(1) During last Ramadaan, the IRF had organised a series of three religious exhibitions at the IRF auditorium in Mumbai, between December 29, 1997 & January 17, 1998. This consisted of the Qur'an Exhibition, the Comparative Religion Exhibition and the Exhibition on on Islamic Educational Tools, Books and Islamic Games for children. Each exhibition was of one week's duration. These exhibitions were not only well attended, but also drew a lot of media attention and were declared by many to be truly unique, not only in Mumbai, but throughout India.


(2) Besides Dr. Zakir Naik, the IRF has good Islamic speakers like Dr. Shuaib Sayyad. On February 8, 1998, the IRF organised a public lecture by Dr. Shuaib Sayyad, "The Concept of Salvation in Islam" at the Patkar Hall in Mumbai.

(3) Between April 14 and May 3, 1998, Dr. Zakir Naik had a series of lecture-tours to the U.A.E., Qatar and Mangalore. In a short span of 15 days of these lecture-tours, Dr. Zakir Naik had thirty-eight programmes consisting of 29 Public Lectures, 5 Press Interviews and 4 T.V. Talks. Alhamdulillah, all the three lecture-tours were successful.

(4) During the year 1998, the IRF had the pleasure of inviting and hosting several prominent International Islamic personalities in Mumbai.

(a) During May 30 to June 1, 1998, the IRF had organized 3 Public Talks, 4 T.V.Talks and 2 T.V. Interviews of Dr Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips, a Canadian revert to Islam and renowned author  and speaker with Doctorate in Islamic Theology from the University of Wales, U.K.

(b) During August 28 to September 02, 1998, the IRF had organized 2 Public Talks, 2 T.V Interviews and 2 T.V. Talks by Dr. V. Abdur Rahim, Director of the the translation center of the King Fahd Holy Qur'an printing complex in Madeenah. Dr.Abdur Rahim has authored several books on subject of learning and teaching Arabic He was professor of Arabic at the Islamic University of Madeenah for over 25 years.

(c) In September 1998 the IRF recorded 2 T.V. Talks and 1 T.V Interview of Dr. Abdullah Abbas Nadvi. Dr. Nadvi had taught Arabic for several years at the Ummul-Qura University in Makkah.

(d) Other International Islamic Speakers.

(e) Several other Indian Islamic Scholar's lectures were organized by the IRF.


(5) Dr. Zakir Naik had a series of lecture tours to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Canada, U.S.A. and U.K. between July 02 to August 09 1998. He gave several public talks in various cities of these countries. He delivered several lecture in U.K. along with reputed Islamic Scholars like Dr. Jamal Badawai of Canada and Imam Siraj Wahhaj of U.S.A.

(6) The IRF organised its First Daw'ah training Workshop conducted by Dr.Zakir Naik for the resident of Mumbai, between September 29 to Ocotober 11, 1998. After intensive interview a batch of 21 participant was selected. The batch was consist of 4 Medical Doctors, 1 MBA, 2 Engineers, 1 Professor, other professional and 2 students.
This Daw'ah training programme was conducted absolutely free and the participants were provided with training material handouts stationary, Islamic video cassettes etc. 
The IRF had received extremely positive feedback from the participants regarding this training programme. The participants have drawn up their own specific Action Plans based on their learning and have begun implementing these plans.

 
(7) Later this year between October 16 to 20, 1998, Dr Zakir Naik visited Singapore for a lecture -tour during which he gave several Public Talks and addressed audiences of thousand of people.

(8) Dr. Zakir Naik also lecture-tour of Malaysia, between October 21 to 26 1998. In Malaysia he spoke at Petronas Surau Twin Tower the tallest structure in the world and also at the international Islamic University of Malaysia(IIUM).
Alhamdulillah both these lecture-tour too were successful. Dr Zakir Naik also conducted two One day Daw'ah Training Programmes for Daees: one each in Singapore and Malaysia

(9) On November 08, 1998, Dr Zakir Naik addressed a large audience in Bhiwandi (a town near Mumbai) on the topic. 'Universal Brotherhood', and convincing replies to many question by non Muslims. At the end of this programme noted Advocate Mr. K.R.Hingorani who presided over the programme, said "I had heard Dr Radha Krishnan speaking in the same vein on the comparative religion of India and about after 50 year I have now heard Dr. Zakir Naik speak..... Dr. Zakir Naik stated that we should first examine common points between different religion and then discuss differences between them. This is one of the best statement  that I have heard in my life..... I request Dr. Zakir Naik to go into Hindu congregations and try to make them understand what Islam stand for.... I think is one of the greatest things that has happened to this world.

 
In addition to the aforesaid events and activities, the IRF has its regular weekly programmes on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. The Ladies wing of the IRF and the Children's Wing have been  doing extremely well in their various programmes.

The IRF has the largest collection of of the CD-ROM's and provides free facilities in the evening at its premises for viewing Islamic CD-ROM'S. In response to the large demand from thousands of people around the world, IRF will InshaAllah organize an International  Daw'ah Training Programme to be conducted by Dr.Zakir Naik between July 07 and August 08,1999. This training programme will be absolutely free for the participants and will be exclusively for Muslim Brother's residing outside India

  • Free distribution of the Glorious Qur'ân with its English translation and commentary to schools, colleges, madrasaas, as well as to non-Muslim individuals for their understanding of the Guidance of Allah.

  • Providing video cassettes on Islam and Comparative Religion (more than 4000 titles - the largest collection in the world) to the public on free hire for a week in Mumbai.

  • Sustained efforts to remove misconceptions about Islam amongst Muslims as well as non-Muslims.

The IRF's reach among Muslims and non-Muslims is growing at a rapid place. The IRF has several visitors every day, comprising of Muslims and non-Muslims. Attending the weekly programmes at the IRF auditorium has become a regular feature in the lives of many in Mumbai.
